Observatory, also known as ‘Obs’, is a suburb in the city of Cape Town. What makes this suburb particularly unique is that during Apartheid, it was one of the few de facto ‘grey’ suburbs, where all races lived together. Even today, it has become a hub where people from all walks of life come together. I live in Obs and everyday I see so many different people who carry with them very unique narratives and experiences. From wealthy businessmen to homeless people on the street, Obs perfectly illustrates the harsh inequality which our country faces. Somehow, in the midst of all this poverty and inequality, people still manage to smile so I decided to  walk the streets of observatory and capture the daily lives of the people who make Obs, Obs.
